Koyuk, AK Church Build Weekly Report: July 23-July 29, 2023

Our team recently had the privilege of sharing lunch with Pastor Don Cross, the pastor of the Covenant Church here in Koyuk. He opened up to our team about his walk with Christ, the challenges in his life that have brought him closer to the Lord, and his excitement for the ministry opportunities that the new church building will bring. I wanted to share some of his story with you, so you could get to know him as well! You’ll find his picture and story at the end of this report.

Pastor Don also shared about some ways we can be praying for the Church here in Koyuk. He specifically asked for prayer for the young people. Isolation, drugs, abuse, alcohol, and depression are just some of the things facing kids and young adults here. Pastor Don asked us to pray that the Church would grow, that many young people would put their faith in Jesus, and that they would come alongside each other to encourage each other in their faith.

Accomplishments this week:

• Electricians are working on the rough in, with the expectation to complete it Monday morning
• Finished final roof details
• Finished facia trim
• Began to install soffit
• Began to install siding
• Met with Koyuk water and sewer department and opened up the ground in preparation for water/sewer

Planned activities for next week:

• Finish soffit and continue to work on siding
• Spray foam subcontractors will begin work
• Continue to build relationships with the community members and share the Gospel of Christ with them
